Chelsea and Ethan Schafer… Said “I DO” on August 6, 2016 and I had the honor and privilege to get to photograph (along with my photography partner in crime Sheila Karner) their wedding day! Their venue was in Louviers, CO at the Historical Louviers Club House. What an extremely special place, and it couldn’t have been more fitting for this amazing Bride and Groom. I loved that Chelsea and Ethan’s personalities shined through in their choice of venue, wedding decorations, her dress, the poker game, and so much more…
Getting Ready…. Wowzer did the day start early, but oh so worth it! We met Chelsea and her Bridal Attendants at the hotel the stayed in the night before at about 6:00AM. When I say we, I mean my mom Betty Kelly and myself, Sheila came a little later. My amazing mom was/is a hair stylist and helped Chelsea with her finger wave hair style and then helped with a few other hair things too.
Chelsea is also a hair stylist and she worked on all her attendants hair for the wedding… She is so very talented and they all looked just so beautiful! At about 11:00 we headed to the Louviers Club House so that the Bride could get in her dress and start taking some photos.
There are so many favorites from this day but this one stands out the most… Chelsea and Ethan did not see each other before the ceremony. But wanted to have this memory… A prayer before the ceremony!
The ceremony started at 2:00, there was a fairly high chance of rain that day, but God is good and kept the rain in but opened up the clouds to let the sun shine though! What a beautiful ceremony, and the love that these two amazing people have for each other is very obvious by their words and how they look at each other.
The Reception…. There was a small break between the ceremony and the reception for some wedding party portraits… Loved working with this group of people! Once Chelsea and Ethan were introduced as Mr. & Mrs. Schafer, got a little food in them they had a few toasts by some very dear friends. A Beautiful first dance together, gosh you can just feel the love these two have. Some very touching dances with their parents, but Chelsea’s dance with her son Jamison melted my heart.
They cut the cake…They had a 4 tier cake, each layer was a different flavor… and Chelsea surprised Ethan with a “PEZ” grooms cake. PEZ is his favorite candy! I’m not sure the story behind it, but Ethan’s Aunt had a good time with the cake cutting and ended up wearing a little of it… So much fun!!!
And then THEY DANCED…
This entire day was wonderful, and I am so thankful for the opportunity and blessing to be able to be a part of it! Many blessings on these two for years and years of love and laughter in their marriage.
