I know, I know…. Here I am catching up on some blogging (again)…
Introducing David and Stacy Syphers! They were married May 23, 2015 near Fort Morgan, CO on their amazing farm! We had an interesting Spring with record rain falls and a lot of flooding (especially near Fort Morgan), which caused some panic in this photographers life that day!
This photo below (taken with my cell phone) was on the 1st of 3 flooded roads we (my second photographer and bestie Sheila Karner) faced that day. This flooded road was just 2 miles (if I remember correctly) from the wedding location… What do we do? You know that saying “turn around, don’t drown”…. This was affirmed when a local resident pulled up and said – “that’s way worse than it was this morning, and I’m not crossing that” I panicked even more! Spoke with Stacy (the bride) and she said, its okay, just head home! So frustrating, we were seriously under 5 minutes away and were stuck… But enter the super nice local lady again and she says, “follow me, there is another way, but its back around and from the other (south) side”… Which really meant 2 more flooded roads and another 1.50 hours of driving on top of the 2 hours we had already driven to get there… But, when you are dedicated you do what you need to do, Right?! (absolutely)
We arrived just as the bride was getting ready to walk down the isle… The rain stopped and the sun poked through the clouds as we were jumping out of the car and grabbing equipment, we said wait, we’re here and began photographing….. Here we go, enjoy the photos!
The Ceremony, was so full of love and devotion…
You can see that Stacy was unsure of what David was doing… no he wasn’t stripping!
As a very very special surprise to Stacy, David had the bridal party, family, and friends wear ZZ Top t-shirts in honor and memory of Stacy’s Dad, ZZ Top was his favorite band!!
The Kiss…. And Stacy’s celebratory “YES”!!
Some of the important people…
Tossing of the bouquet and some pretty great toasts to the Bride and Groom!
Man can this young lady sing!
Wedding Party, Family, and Friend Photos… I know the first photo (ZZ Top group photo) will be a nice surprise for Stacy, she thought we forgot her brother in this very important photo… ! I love happy surprises….
Mr. & Mrs. Syphers sharing cake pops!… Oh these 2 had so much fun!!
We didn’t have much time for formal photos, due to the flooded roads… Here are a few!
It’s all in the little details…
Dancing the night away….
Lighting and flying of lanterns!!! This was one of the funnest ways to celebrate Stacy and David’s marriage.
Even with all the rain and some missing guests, this wedding was fun and full of love. Congratulations to Stacy and David!!
